HOW TO KEEP MY MAKEUP SWEAT PROOF FOR THE SEASON – Ladies who onlineΒ
With the scorching desert heat looming over us for a major chunk of the year, we all need to know a thing or two about keeping our makeup on and not have it slide off our faces.
So here I am, a mom of three children giving it my best shot to look all put together while doing school runs, attending social events, and running errands the last few summers in Dubai. I have learned how to keep my makeup sweat proof for the season.
-I tan very easily, hence a sunscreen is a must for me. I opt for a sunscreen that is oil-free, something that promises to give a dry-touch finish. Apply this fifteen minutes before you start your makeup routine, so it’s absorbed well. A brand that I recommend is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch.
–The heat doesn’t help with my enlarged pores, so I can’t skip using a primer to tighten those craters. Becca’s Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector makes you feel like your pores are tightening, and your skin is firming.
-Now, the trick is to have a well-prepared base to hold all the layers of products that we apply. This goes for your eyeshadow primer too. Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion ensures your eyeshadow does not crease. It also preps the lids for all-day wear.
-I also need coverage, especially if I’m going out for an event. So I make the foundation my best friend. It’s something that is buildable yet light and not cakey during the summers. A product that I love is the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation. This sweat-resistant product has a light coverage, which is perfect for the summer.
-And how about some setting powder? If this is not part of your routine then you are going to have to deal with your makeup melting off. I highly recommend Huda Beauty’s Easy Bake Powder. It’s a finely milled powder that holds the makeup in place all day long.
-Once you have your base sorted, you can opt to do your eye makeup the usual way. Just stay away from creamy eyeshadows or simply use some mascara and kohl. I stay away from blushers during the heat and make the powder bronzer my best friend.
-I also prefer using lip pencils to fill my whole lip and a balm that has a stain on it. I highly recommend Revlon’s ColorBurst Matte Balm.
-Lastly, keep your freshly done makeup in place. Moisten a beauty blender with setting and dab it lightly all over your face. Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray is the holy grail.
-Also, make blotting paper your best friend. I love the Clean & Clear sheets that are highly absorbent and sop up the oil on my face. Keep it in your purse for your midday touch-ups.
In a nutshell, keep it light to allow the skin to breathe. The goal is to keep your makeup looking fresh and streak-free. Try the products that I have listed, and thank me later.
