HOW NOT TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS? – Ladies Who Online
Remember your “things I want to do” list or maybe your dream board that’s been hanging pretty on your wall? How about all the times you said “I really want to try”, but haven’t started anything yet?
Well, just do it! As they say, “later” soon leads to “never”. I do believe in perfect timing. But I also know that dreams don’t work unless you do. It’s something I tell myself too, every time.
If you’re not starting anything yet, then you’re most likely in this list of “how not to chase your dreams”.
Here are some practices that can delay your game:
1. Being lazy about certain things
Your dreams won’t work unless you do, and those people who have made them or are halfway through have done all the work necessary to make their dreams happen. They didn’t just wish them on a magic lamp!
2. Not setting goals and deadlines
Setting little goals and deadlines will help you slowly kick-off the game. It will help you bring out an output rather than just sitting and waiting for the right time to start any of them.
3. Always thinking about the “what ifs”
What if it’s not for me? What if I can’t do it? It is normal to be anxious when starting something new. But you just need to do it! There are no bigger regrets than the “what ifs”.
4. Thinking it’s too late or maybe you’re too old for that dream
While setting up goals and timelines will help achieve your dreams, dreams themselves don’t have a deadline. You can always try and make them happen. You are never too old to either start or start over.
5. Comparing yourself to others
We are all different from one another. As cliché as it may sound, we are unique in our ways. And so comparing two things isn’t just right.
6. Being afraid to try
You will not get anything started if you are afraid to do something now. It’s alright to have mistakes because that’s when you will learn to make things better.
7. Having no faith in yourself
If you do not believe in yourself, then who will? Listen, you are amazing! Take note of that.
8. Surrounding yourself with negativity
Negativity doesn’t do any good to people’s dreams, let alone their lives. So get rid of them!
9. Hanging out with unsupportive people
These days, we need more people who are supportive and good-spirited. Go where you are celebrated. Make friends with people who talk about their goals, dreams, and passion. Lift each other!
10. And here comes all the other excuses that keep you from starting your step 1! If you want that dream to happen, you can keep up with all your lists, except all of these.
So go chase your dreams! I’m rooting for you.
