Diabetes – A Growing Health Crisis:
With 95% of diabetes cases in Malaysia being type 2 diabetes, lifestyle modifications and preventive measures are crucial to curb this growing health crisis. Government initiatives have come into play in tackling this issue. The Health Ministry of Malaysia (KKM), through the Advocacy Plan launched in November 2023, has increased the tax on sugar, including premixed sugary drinks, to discourage excessive sugar consumption.
