– I’m Komal and I enjoy seeing people smile!
I love to curate gifts that are meaningful and personal, helping you stay connected with those you appreciate. I work with both individual and businesses curating bespoke gifts for clients and loved ones.
Few fun facts about me: I have a masters degree in events and weddings planning, worked in the events industry for over 8 years, I did my bachelors in PR and Advertising and I quit my full time job to start BOX VOX ME in 2019. I love creativity, colours get me excited and when I’m not gifting I ‘m usually head deep in creating content for my blog and dancing. I love to travel and I find a lot of inspiration from other parts of the world.
1. Are you employed or managing your own business?
– I am managing my own bespoke gifting studio called Box Vox ME based in UAE.
2. How do you balance work and life responsibilities?
– I plan my week in advance, whether if its work commitments or personal. I like to priorities my first half with the most important and urgent things and like to keep the less important or meetings, which requires me to step out of office for, second half of the day. I like to wake up early so that most of my work is done by noon. Time to time I like to take a mini breaks during the day for some “Me” time. I have a strict rule of not working on weekends and spending time with family and friends until and unless there is a huge project ongoing.
3. What’s the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?
– I would like to say it’s my positive mental attitude, creativity, and attention to details, self discipline combined with honestly and off course the right contacts.
4. What are your success habits?
– I like to set goals, for the entire year, for each quarter and even for each month and week. I research a lot and I never give up no matter what.
5. As a female leader, what has been the most significant barrier in your business?
– Institutional Mindset is the most significant barrier and reason for me personally.
6. What was the hardest decision you ever had to make for your business?
– Leaving a full time job to start my Business with just savings.
Dealing with unknown territories that come with Entrepreneurship and finances.
7. What mistakes have you made along the way?
– I learn every day; it’s a life long process for an entrepreneur. Few mistakes that I have made are: Sometimes not knowing the right thing to say at the right time to clients, not delegating work and doing it all by myself, Improperly tracking marketing spend, working harder and not smarter during initial days.
8. If you could start all over again, what would you do differently?
1. Slow down on big decisions
2. Pay myself as soon as I can
3. Have finance and sales tracking system in place from the very beginning.
- What is the best advice you can give to the next generation of young women who want to succeed in the workplace or in business, and in life?
– My only advice would be – Be bold, take risks and dare to be different and Never Ever give up no matter what.
